Pennypack Farm and Education Center started in 2003 on what used to be an overworked cornfield. Today it is a recognized model for sustainable agricultural practices, growing organic produce on 13 acres in Horsham, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
Their mission is simple and they live it every day: Grow. Give. Teach. They grow organic, seasonal vegetables. They give thousands of pounds of fresh produce to local food pantries. And they teach the community and the next generation of farmers about sustainable agriculture.
What went from an exhausted piece of land is now a thriving farm that feeds approximately 3,500 individuals each year. That is the kind of transformation that happens when people care about where food comes from. ๐ฑ
