🏆 About This Market
The Lansdowne Farmers Market was founded in May 2007 and is now in its 19th season (2026). In 2025, it was awarded #1 Farmers Market in Pennsylvania by the American Farmland Trust. That is not a local award. That is the entire state of Pennsylvania. 🥇
The market is run by the Lansdowne Economic Development Corporation (LEDC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and operated by approximately 10 dedicated volunteers plus one paid Market Manager. It is located in the municipal parking lot across from the Historic Lansdowne Theater at Veterans Landing. 🎭
Their mission: "Bring fresh local food to Lansdowne, foster economic development, promote Lansdowne businesses, artists, and musicians, and provide a community gathering place." Research shows that shared civic spaces like this improve mental health and trust in local institutions. 💚
